Farm Machinery Distributed Under Sugarcane Development Scheme in Sahibganj to Boost Production
Under the Sugarcane Development Scheme, farmers in Sahibganj district of Jharkhand are being provided with modern agricultural machinery. The initiative aims to make farming easier, reduce production costs, and increase sugarcane output, ultimately improving farmers’ income.
Farmers Receive Modern Agricultural Equipment
The district administration and Agriculture Department distributed modern farm equipment such as pump sets, sprayers, and power weeders among farmers. These machines are expected to speed up farming operations and reduce the time and effort required compared to traditional methods.
Better Yield and Improved Quality Expected
Amitesh Ranjan, Assistant Director of Sugarcane Development and District Horticulture, said that the use of these machines would lower cultivation costs and positively impact crop productivity. He added that adopting modern technology would help farmers achieve better yields along with improved crop quality.
Farmers Sent for Technical Training
As part of the scheme, 50 farmers from the district have been sent to Lucknow for training in modern agricultural techniques. Through this program, farmers will learn new methods that can further enhance sugarcane production.
Farmers Welcome the Initiative
The distribution of farm machinery has created enthusiasm among farmers. Farmers Sita Devi and Bilas Yadav said the equipment would make weed control easier and help protect crops from diseases. They added that it would reduce labour while increasing productivity.
Support for Higher Income
Farmers like Dharmendra Yadav and Shambhu Mandal said that many families still depend on agriculture for their livelihood. Increasing the production of cash crops like sugarcane would help raise farmers’ earnings and strengthen their financial condition.
Useful for Other Crops Too
According to the Agriculture Department, the distributed machines are not limited to sugarcane farming. They can also be used for cultivating crops such as maize, sorghum, and millet. This will benefit farmers engaged in multi-crop farming as well.
The distribution of agricultural machinery under the Sugarcane Development Scheme is proving to be an important step for farmers in Sahibganj. Combined with modern technology and training, the initiative is expected to boost sugarcane production while helping farmers move towards self-reliance.
