Beekeeping gave Mukesh Pathak a new identity, creating a pure honey brand called ‘Faba Honey’

The farmer whose story we’re sharing today has transformed beekeeping into not just a business, but a movement. This is Mukesh Pathak from North India, who is not only producing pure honey through beekeeping but has also set a new example in this field.

Mukesh Pathak says, “Initially, anyone feels hesitant to take on new endeavors. But I was inspired to pursue beekeeping by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s talk about the ‘Sweet Revolution.’ He urged farmers to keep 10-20 bee boxes alongside their farming and use pure honey in their homes.”

We needed ideas, not land

Many people think that land is necessary for farming or gardening. But Mukesh Pathak proved that even without land, one can make a name for oneself in agriculture. Beekeeping is a field that doesn’t require a large amount of land. All it requires is knowledge, dedication, and hard work.

He entered this field in 2016 after learning from YouTube, Google, and farmers. He faced some difficulties in the early years, but he didn’t give up and mastered the intricacies of beekeeping.

Honey trade and challenges

When honey production began to improve, Mukesh Pathak realized that the real challenge wasn’t production, but marketing. “Pure honey wasn’t selling, but syrup-laced honey was selling easily,” he says.

From there, he decided to bring pure honey to the masses, without criticism. “I won’t criticise anyone else’s honey; I’ll just bring my pure honey to the people and leave it to them to decide.”

Benefits of Beekeeping

Beekeeping not only produces honey, but it also plays a vital role in environmental balance. It promotes pollination, which improves the yield of other crops. This is why beekeeping is now considered part of the ‘sweet revolution’.

Mukesh Pathak took this field seriously and established his own brand, ‘Faba Honey,’ which has become a symbol of purity and quality.

More than 15 types of pure honey

Many people don’t know that honey is not the same. Mukesh Pathak explains that honey made from nectar from different flowers has different tastes, colors, and aromas. This is called ‘flora-based honey.’

Some of the major types of honey are:

Celery Flora Honey

Jamun Flora Honey

Eucalyptus Flora Honey

Berry and Acacia Flora Honey

Multi-Flora Honey (from Forest Areas)

The flora of each region is different, and so is the taste and quality of the honey. This information helps consumers identify the purity of the honey.

Features of Faba Honey

Under the leadership of Mukesh Pathak, ‘Faba Honey’ has become a brand that stands as a movement against adulterated honey. His team consists of only 15 people, but each member is dedicated.

Beekeeping in the Digital Age

Using social media and WhatsApp, Mukesh Pathak has adopted a new method of selling honey. Customers contact him, and he couriers pure honey across India. “We sell honey based on trust, not tons,” he says with a smile.

He believes that only bees can produce real honey, and even they have their limits. Therefore, the number of boxes is increased year after year, and so is the number of customers.

Advice to young farmers

Mukesh Pathak’s advice to young farmers who want to pursue a career in beekeeping is:

Initially, connect with an experienced beekeeper.

Start with 15-20 boxes.

Learn honey production first, then focus on marketing.

Never compromise on purity.

Social initiatives and future goals

Mukesh Pathak has also formed the ‘Beekeepers Welfare Society,’ which provides technical support and awareness to other beekeepers. He wants the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) to enact strict regulations on honey, making botanical identification mandatory. He believes this will prevent adulteration and ensure consumers receive a pure product.

Conclusion

Mukesh Pathak’s story is an inspiration for anyone who wants to get involved in beekeeping. He has shown that with dedication, technology, and the right direction, beekeeping can become a powerful and respectable profession.

Today, ‘Faba Honey’ has become a trusted name, and Mukesh Pathak is making beekeeping a strong foundation for a self-reliant India.
