Anil says, “Earlier we were using chemical fertilizers, but when we saw that it was having a negative impact on the health of our family, we turned towards organic farming. Now our crops are completely organic and beneficial for health.”

Organic Farming Model: Natural Manure and Production for Home Needs 

Anil Kumar Verma is doing organic farming in his three-acre farm, where he produces vegetables and other crops to meet the needs of his family. The main purpose of his farming is to grow organic food for the home, so that his family can stay healthy.

He says, “All the food we grow in our farm is completely organic. For this, we use cow dung, neem oil, and other natural products. This not only maintains the fertility of our soil, but the crops are also of high quality.”

Anil Kumar Verma has developed some special techniques for making organic manure in his farm. He prepares compost by mixing cow dung and household waste and uses it in his crops. Apart from this, he also uses neem oil and liquid fertilizer to protect his crops from pests.

Anil says that “We have prepared a sack in which we put cow dung and let it rot. The liquid that comes out of it, we spray it on our crops, so that the crops remain safe from pests. It is completely organic and has no side effects,” he said.

Anil Kumar Verma wants to expand his organic farming even further. Currently, he is doing organic farming on three acres of land, but his goal is to increase this area further. So far, he has not taken advantage of any government scheme, but he is getting information about it so that he can expand his farming further.

He says, “We have not taken advantage of any government scheme yet, but we are getting information about it. If we get a right scheme, we will definitely adopt it so that our farming can be even more effective.”

Challenges related to organic farming and future plans 

There are many challenges in organic farming, especially when a farmer turns from traditional farming to organic farming. Anil Kumar Verma also faced many challenges, but he did not give up. He gradually increased his farming and now he is planning to expand it further. 

He said, “Initially we faced some problems in organic farming, but we gradually understood and adopted it. Now we are planning to expand our farming further, so that we can not only fulfill the needs of our family, but also sell organic products in the market.”
