Arka Shreyas
This variety of bottle gourd, which yields up to 48 tonnes per hectare, is not long, but slightly rounded and thick. It is an open pollinated variety which gets ready in 60 days.
Arka Bahar
This variety is grown in rainy and summer season. It is light green in colour and gets ready within 50 to 60 days. As far as yield is concerned, it is 450 to 500 quintals per hectare.
Arka Ganga
This variety of bottle gourd, which gives yield up to 58 tonnes per hectare, is oval shaped and green in colour. It gets ready in 56 days.
Kashi Ganga
This variety gives high yield. That is, farmers can easily earn profit by cultivating it. This variety of gourd is of medium size, green in color and one to one and a half feet in length. Fruits appear 50 to 55 days after planting the seeds.
Apart from these, Kashi Bahar, Pusa Naveen, Narendra Rashmi, Pusa Sandesh etc. are advanced varieties of bottle gourd, which give good yields.
Climate and Soil
