Anuj Kumar Singh of Uttar Pradesh not only built his own business through dairy farming, but also provided employment to more than 100 farmers.

In India, farming is still the main source of livelihood for people. A large population of villages is still dependent on farming. Despite farming in traditional ways, many farmers are now adopting new ideas and techniques to make farming a profitable deal. But when a youth thinks new, does something different and the life of tribal farmers and surrounding villages starts changing, then he becomes an example. Such people not only make a way for themselves, but also show the way to others. Their thinking and hard work change the picture of many villages.

One such inspirational story is of Anuj Kumar Singh of Bulandshahr district of Uttar Pradesh, who has raised a new hope not only for himself but also for hundreds of farmers. Anuj adopted dairy farming and did it in a modern way. Through dairy farming, he not only created employment for himself but also helped more than 100 farmers. Due to his initiative, many farmers started getting regular income, and new employment opportunities were also created in the villages. Let’s know the whole story of Anuj.

Anuj started dairy farming

Anuj Kumar Singh is from a small village in Bulandshahr district of Uttar Pradesh. He started “Anuj Dairy Farm” in 2010 with a capital of just ₹ 1 lakh. Anuj was only 22 years old at that time. He took training under the Agri-Clinic and Agri-Business Center (AC&ABC) scheme and from there he got the idea and confidence of dairy farming.

The model of dairy farming also prepared other products along with milk

Anuj’s dairy farming was not limited to the sale of raw milk. Along with milk, he also started selling many products made from it like curd, ghee, butter and cheese. His milk goes to nearby areas and to confectioners for making sweets. This model does not limit dairy farming to just one product, but makes it more profitable by increasing its value chain.

Full focus on quality, healthy animals, cleanliness and regular checkups

From the very beginning, Anuj Kumar paid attention to the fact that his animals remain healthy. He ensured nutritional feed, timely doctor’s checkup and clean environment. This is the reason why animals in his dairy farming fall sick less and the quality of milk also remains intact.

100 farmers got support, tribal farmers became self-reliant

Today Anuj Kumar Singh’s dairy farming has become a part of not just his, but an entire network. About 100 farmers from 10 villages are associated with him, including many tribal farmers. Tribal farmers are getting regular income from this model of dairy farming, which is improving their standard of living. Not only this, 2 people have also got permanent employment in Anuj’s dairy farm.

Annual turnover ₹ 13 lakh, a strong and sustainable model

Anuj Kumar Singh’s Anuj Dairy Farm now has an annual turnover of around ₹ 13 lakh. This is not the model of any multinational company, but a rural and sustainable dairy farming model, which is also inspiring other farmers.

How can dairy farming become beneficial for tribal areas

In today’s time when many youth are running towards the city, farmers like Anuj are developing the society by living in tribal areas through dairy farming. Dairy farming is a business that can be started at low cost and with proper care, the profit is also good. If tribal farmers adopt this model, they can become self-reliant and the problem of migration can also be reduced.

Things to learn – What to learn from Anuj?

Big business with small investment: Started with only ₹1 lakh and achieved a turnover of ₹13 lakh.

Diversification: Started selling milk products as well.

Cleanliness and health: Improvement in production with proper care of animals.

Connecting the community: Development of all by connecting tribal farmers and villages with employment.

Right use of government schemes

Anuj Kumar told that Agri-Clinics & Agri-Business Centres Scheme gave him the right direction. Taking advantage of this scheme, he took technical information of dairy farming and implemented it at the ground level.

Conclusion

Anuj Kumar Singh’s success proves that if the thinking is right, the hard work is true and the direction is clear, then any farmer can change not only his life but the life of the entire community through dairy farming. Tribal farmers can especially learn from this model how they can become self-reliant by using local resources. If you are also a farmer and want to start dairy farming, then Anuj’s story can give you a new direction.
