Organic Farming: “My greetings to all farmer brothers”, you must have heard this line from many political rallies and many forums. Whenever farmers are addressed in a rally, they are called as Kisan Bhai. Why only farmer brothers? Because farming has often been associated with the male society. There was not much discussion about the contribution of women in agriculture, but now the situation has changed a bit. Now many women in agriculture are presenting an example of women empowerment by becoming an inspiration. According to a report by the international group OXFAM, 75 per cent of those who work full-day on farms in India are women alone. That is why it would probably be correct to say ‘Kisan Saathi’ and not ‘Kisan Bhai’. In this article, today we are going to tell you about such a woman, who left the government job to adopt farming.

Left government job for farming in 2010, adopted organic farming

Nabaneeta Das, a resident of Jorhat district of Assam, comes from a farming family. From the beginning, she also had an attachment to farming.
