Farmer Prakash Narayan: In today’s rapidly changing world, innovation and sustainability in the field of agriculture have special importance. Seeing the increasing side effects of chemical farming, more and more farmers are now turning to organic and natural farming. This change not only protects the quality of the soil and the environment, but also provides healthy and nutritious food to consumers.

There is a notable name in this direction, who is taking organic farming to new heights with his unique methods and dedication. Let us know about his story and the special techniques adopted by him, which are not only improving agriculture but also inspiring other farmers.

Prakash Narayan, a farmer from Kasganj district of Uttar Pradesh, is known for his innovative and natural farming efforts. Despite adopting new experiments and modern methods in the field of farming, he took inspiration from his family’s traditional farming and incorporated organic and natural methods in his farming.

Diverse types of crops are grown on Prakash’s agricultural land. In this one-acre land, he has recently grown seasonal crops like coriander and fenugreek. Earlier, he also used to cultivate flowers, however, he stopped it due to low demand in the local market. Apart from this, he has also tried his hand at fish farming, however, this too had to be stopped due to soil quality and other challenges. Still, his efforts and hard work demonstrate his perseverance and innovation in the field of agriculture.

What makes Prakash Narayan’s farming unique?

The most unique aspect of Prakash Narayan’s farming is his completely natural farming method. He does not buy any kind of chemical fertilizers or pesticides from the market. Instead, he prepares organic manure and Jeevamrit using cow dung and cow urine obtained from his cows. He believes that natural farming not only improves the quality of the crop but is also environment friendly. His crops are tasty, nutritious and sustainable in the long term.

According to Prakash, crops produced from organic farming fetch higher prices in the market than chemical farming. However, adopting a completely organic method comes with some challenges, such as the availability of organic seeds. He also mentioned that there were challenges in fish farming, as the soil quality was not suitable for fish growth. Despite this, he continued to distribute fish locally.

Challenges and Solutions

Prakash faced many challenges in adopting new technologies and natural farming methods. The biggest problem was the availability of organic products and seeds. He said that despite the schemes and benefits provided by the government, he did not get proper support for basil cultivation. Lack of awareness and proper information in government schemes has also been a big problem.

Prakash says that if the government reaches out to farmers in a better way and increases the accessibility of schemes, the level of farming can be improved further. He also highlighted the lack of infrastructure in his area, which makes it difficult for farmers to get maximum yield of their crop.

Future plans and hopes

Prakash Narayan wants to make his farming more advanced. They want the government and local institutions to encourage organic farming more and provide the farmers with the necessary resources and training. They believe that if given the right guidance and support, their farming model can become an inspiration for other farmers as well.

Potential benefits from government schemes

The government runs several schemes to promote organic farming, such as the Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana (PKVY) and the Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY). If farmers like Prakash take advantage of these schemes, they can gain knowledge of modern agricultural techniques and financial support. This will not only strengthen their financial condition, but will also make their efforts towards organic farming more successful.

Prakash Narayan’s story is a symbol of the fact that if there is dedication and hard work, success can be achieved despite difficulties. There is a lot to learn from his agricultural journey and it also inspires other farmers to move towards organic farming and move towards a healthy and sustainable agricultural system.
