Pantnagar Kisan Mela 2023: 25 to 28 February, Know what is Special

Agri-startups, agricultural experts and progressive farmers will unite in Pantnagar Kisan Mela

Pantnagar Kisan Mela 2023 | New techniques are being developed day by day for progress in the agriculture sector in India. The aim of agricultural scientists is to empower farmers and reduce the cost of agriculture. Farmers’ seminars and farmers’ fairs are organized across the country to take those techniques to the farmers. One such fair is the Kisan Mela of Pantnagar, which is famous all over the country.

The agriculture fair is organized twice every year at Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Uttarakhand. The 113th All India Kisan Fair and Agro-Industry Exhibition of 2023 is being organized from 25 to 28 February at Gandhi Maidan. Various types of stalls and many competitions are organized at the fair. Farmers from all over the country reach the Pantnagar Kisan Mela. Farmers will get a golden opportunity to see and understand new agricultural techniques in the Pantnagar Kisan Mela.

University’s Director of Extension Education, Dr. Anil Kumar Sharma said that many exhibitions and many competitions related to fruits, flowers, vegetables, and farming will be organized during this four-day Kisan Mela. Winner farmers and agri-entrepreneurs will also be felicitated in these competitions. 

The Kisan Mela will be inaugurated on 25 February 2023 in Gandhi Hall at 11 am. Along with the inauguration, exhibitions of fruits, flowers, vegetables, and other agricultural products will start on the Krishi Mela premises. An auction of crossbred heifers will also be held at Academic Dairy Farm, Nagla on 26 February 2023 from 2 pm to provide improved breed cows to the farmers. A fish production exhibition and competition will be organized on the same day from 3 pm. In this, new techniques related to fish farming will be known.

Animal exhibition and competition will be organized on the third day of Pantnagar Kisan Mela from 10 am on February 27 in the premises of the Veterinary and Animal Department. To inform the farmers about the scientific method of farming, a Farmers Scientific Dialogue/Krishak Goshthi will also be organized from 25 to 27 February at 3 pm. In this, new information will be given to the farmers by the agricultural scientists. Along with this, farmers will be able to know the solution to their problems directly from agricultural scientists. A cultural program will also be organized on February 26 and 27 from 7 pm to 8:30 pm for the entertainment of farmers and guests.

New varieties of seeds and mini kits for Kharif season crops will also be sold at the Kisan Mela. Along with this, advanced seeds of vegetables, fruits, forestry, aromatic plants, and flowers will also be sold. Progressive farmers, agri-entrepreneurs, and agriculture-related firms will have to book stalls by February 23 to exhibit their products.
