Youth Rohit Chauhan gave a new direction to the dairy industry of Saharanpur
Rohit Chauhan, a resident of Bisanpura village in Saharanpur district of Uttar Pradesh, has dreamed of taking a big step in the dairy industry through his hard work and vision. Born on 1 June 1998, Rohit decided to turn his first small initiative in the world of dairy farming into a big business. Now he is committed to expanding his dairy and wants to make it even more successful by incorporating new technologies in this field.
Beginning of dairy farming
Rohit said, “I had a small dairy in which I started with a few cows and buffaloes. I was already interested in this business and gradually I got the opportunity to understand its nuances.” Initially, Rohit had to face challenges like animal husbandry, taking care of their health and giving proper diet. But he saw every challenge as an opportunity and increased his experience.
Rohit gradually gained expertise in dairy operations, and now he plans to transform this small business into a large dairy farm. “Now my dream is to start a big dairy farm using modern technology and equipment so that I can bring high-quality dairy products to the market with more milk production,” he said.
His plans in dairy farming
Rohit plans to use advanced technologies in his dairy farm such as automatic milking machines, fodder harvesting machines, and digital tracking systems to monitor the health of animals with accuracy. Rohit believes that such equipment not only increases the speed of work but also helps in improving the quality of milk and animal care.
“If we use modern technologies properly, not only can we produce more milk, but animal care also improves. This gives more profit to the farmers and the quality of milk remains good,” Rohit says.
Government support needed
So far, Rohit has not taken any government assistance in his dairy farming operations. However, he feels the need for government schemes and grants to set up a bigger dairy farm. He is hoping for grants and subsidies from the government to raise the capital and modern equipment required for animal husbandry.
There are several government programmes that are helpful in promoting the dairy industry, such as the National Dairy Development Scheme (NDDB) and Dairy Entrepreneurship Development Scheme. Under these schemes, farmers can get financial assistance for equipment, animal feed, and other requirements. Rohit says, “If I get assistance from the government, I can make my farm better and bigger, which can also create new employment opportunities.”
Vision of a modern dairy farm
Rohit wants to set up a dairy farm that is eco-friendly. He plans to install a cow dung gas plant on the farm, which will meet the energy requirements and also reduce pollution. Apart from this, he wants to produce green fodder through hydroponic method, which saves water along with providing high nutrition.
His plan also includes special attention to hygiene. They want to use a hygienic milking system so that the milk can be maintained for freshness and high quality. The milk will be stored and distributed through automated milk processing units, which maintains the quality of the milk and opens the way for the farmer to earn more profits.
Inspiration for the farmers of the region
This step of Rohit Chauhan is not only inspiring for himself but also for other farmers of the region. Seeing his efforts, other young farmers are also getting inspired to step into dairy farming. He says, “I try to share my experience and knowledge with other farmers, so that they can also achieve success in this field.”
Conclusion
This journey of Rohit Chauhan is not only the story of the progress of a farmer, but it shows that if hard work is done in the right direction and technology is used properly, then any farmer can make his dreams come true. His planning and hard work proves that dairy farming can be made a profitable and respectable business. With the support of government schemes and grants, Rohit’s journey will not only become a means of his own progress but will also open a new path for other farmers of Saharanpur.
