Combine Harvester Machine: How many types of combine harvesters are there? Know the price and features
The combine harvester is an essential agricultural machine that streamlines the harvesting process by combining the tasks of cutting, threshing, and cleaning crops.
Combine Harvester Machine: To make farming easier, scientists keep making new equipment every day, one such equipment is Combine Harvester, which can easily do the work of harvesting the crop, threshing and cleaning. Earlier, the amount of hard work and time used to be taken in farming work, now it has reduced due to new agricultural equipment. Combine harvester can do the work of harvesting, threshing, collecting and cleaning the crop in a very short time. It would not be wrong if this equipment is called the true companion of farmers. What is the specialty of this machine, which crops can be harvested with it and why is it beneficial for farmers? Kisan of India correspondent Sarvesh Bundeli discussed this with Iqbal.
What is a combine harvester?
Iqbal says that nowadays the weather turns bad in 5 minutes, and the shortage of labourers is another problem. In such a situation, this machine is very beneficial. It harvests, threshes and cleans one acre of crop in 20-25 minutes. Many times it happens that the crop is ready for harvesting, but labourers are not available for harvesting and suddenly it rains, then the entire crop gets spoiled, due to which the farmers have to suffer huge losses, whereas this problem will not arise if a Combine Harvester Machine is kept, because it works very quickly.
Which crops are harvested?
Combine harvester is a multipurpose machine for farmers. Iqbal says that crops like wheat, paddy, gram, mustard, coriander, cumin, green gram, urad, soybean and sunflower are harvested with it. Not only this, after harvesting, the machine will take out the entire grain and also clean it. It has many nets, which clean the crop completely, that is, after the crop comes into the machine, the farmers get a completely ready crop which they can directly sell or stock.
Combine Harvester Fuel Efficiency
Iqbal tells that if you run the combine harvester from 8 am to 8 pm, then about 120-125 liters of diesel is spent. As far as the amount of crop harvested is concerned, how much is harvested depends on the land and the crop. For example, the harvester moves slowly on sandy soil, moves easily on black soil or flat soil and the harvester moves fast on standing crops.
How does a combine harvester work?
There is a reel in the combine harvester machine on which the farmers keep the crop. It takes the crop to the cutting unit inside which there are very sharp blades like large knives. With the help of these blades, the cutter cuts the crop. The cut crop goes to the racing unit through the conveyor belt. In the racing unit, the crop grains are separated with the help of dressing drum and concrete clearance. Combine harvesters have large cleaning systems and blowers, with the help of which the straw is separated from the crops. The cleaned grain is collected in the storage system.
Benefits of Combine Harvester Machine
Iqbal explains that with the combine harvester, harvesting and the subsequent process are done simultaneously, which does not cause damage to the crop. Farmers do not need to look for laborers and threshers for harvesting. The crop can be harvested the same day when it is ready.
Vijay, a farmer who uses combine harvester, says that thanks to the harvester, the crop can be cut and taken directly to the market. This saves both time and labor. With the help of combine harvester, harvesting can be done quickly even in a large field. Combine harvester machine does many tasks simultaneously. There are many benefits of using it-
More efficiency- Combine harvester is a single machine that does many tasks simultaneously, for this, different blades, cutters, sieves etc. are installed in the machine, so that the harvesting process is done properly. It can do many other tasks simultaneously along with cutting, sorting, storage.
Time saving- Harvesting is done very fast with combine harvester as compared to traditional methods or other machines. This saves the time of farmers.
Reduction in the cost of agriculture- One combine harvester does the work of many machines. Therefore, farmers do not need to buy different machines.
There is no damage to crops- Combine harvester is designed in such a way that the crops are harvested carefully.
Types of Combine Harvesters
Combine harvesters are usually of two types-
Automatic combine harvester: The entire machinery is fitted in this type of combine harvester. This machinery operates the engine and other parts with its own power. This makes the work of harvesting, threshing and cleaning of grains easy.
Tractor driven combine harvester: This type of harvester machine is operated by connecting it to the tractor. This machine runs on the PTO of the tractor. The crop is harvested by running the combine from the tractor.
How To Choose A Combine Harvester?
Small farmers who want to buy a harvester only for their home farming should buy a mini combine harvester or a tractor-driven combine harvester. This is suitable for them and its price is also low. If a farmer does commercial farming or wants to earn money from combine harvester, then a heavy combine harvester will be good for him or he can also buy an automatic combine harvester.
Combine Harvester Price
The price of combine harvester depends on the cutter bar. At present, more than 20 famous companies in the country are manufacturing combine harvesters. Its price ranges from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 50 lakh according to the features and specifications of the machine. But small farmers can buy mini combine harvester whose price starts from Rs 5 lakh.
