India Launches Large-Scale Bamboo Plantation Drive on Degraded Lands

India is accelerating efforts to expand bamboo cultivation across degraded and underutilised landscapes as part of a broader push to combine environmental restoration with rural economic development. Several states have recently increased plantation activities under programmes aimed at improving land productivity while creating income opportunities for local communities.
